| Finally, the first look of Pee Cee’s item song from the film Shootout At Wadala is out! After so many years, Priyanka Chopra has finally donned the garb of an item girl, but she is not the desi item girl like her contemporaries; instead her look asBadmaash Babli is more chic and sexy.
The track is a retro-inspired one, and is learnt to be an ode to the vibrant and energetic 80s. What will interest you further about Priyanka Chopra’s look is the cut-out dress, designed by Manish Malhotra. In fact, Manish has taken a cue from Amitabh Bachchan’s famous bulb outfit from the song Saara Zamana in the film Yaarana (1981). Thus Priyanka’s outfit that is made of leather and rubber is decorated with LED lights. Priyanka’s haircut for the song is also different. The actress will sport short hair, and no fringes.
But how did Badmaash Babli happene because Priyanka hasn’t favored being an item girl even though she danced to the songs like Desi girl? Priyanka Chopra says, “I did want (to) work with Ekta, and she was very persistent about the song. It was a conscious decision for me not to do an item song after all these years in Bollywood. But it was great opportunity as both of us had really wanted to work with each other. So I just decided to go out of my comfort zone.”
The item track Badmaash Babli is composed by Anu Malik and is written by Kumaar. Choreographer Ahmed Khan is behind the dance steps, and it is Sunidhi Chauhanwho has rendered the song in her sultry vocals.
Producer Ekta Kapoor ensured that Priyanka’s first association with Balaji is special, and feels that Priyanka has taken the item song to a new level. According to Ekta, she will become synonymous with Babli.
