Ajaz Khan
In his next outing titled 'Ya Rab', actor Ajaz Khan will play an ATS (Anti-Terrorism Squad) officer. Earlier seen in 'Allah Ke Banday' with Naseeruddin Shah, Ajaz trained with a real ATS officer.
"The film was shot in Lucknow and I was sent there 10 days ahead to be with Mr Khan, an ATS officer," says the actor, adding, "He carried one gun, 10 mobile phones and five laptops with him. His laptops were constantly on and he was receiving information from all parts of the world. That's when I realised that being an ATS officer is lot more than just physically protecting people. Lots of responsibility and risk is involved."
Ajaz, who has only done negative roles in the past, was looking for a positive one to come his way. "I was getting tired of being typecast. This is the first film where I am playing a positive character. My role was initially supposed to be played by either Suniel Shetty or Manoj Bajpayee. To put me in the same league as them is in itself an achievement for me," he says.
Ya Rab is directed by Hasnain Hyderabadwala, who has earlier directed movies like The Killer and The Train.
