Come March 31, and we will get to see one nightingale felicitating another. In other words, on that day, Lata Mangeshkar will be seen honoring her younger sister Asha Bhosle with the 'Pt Hridaynath Lifetime Achievement Award'. This will be the first time ever that Lata will be felicitating Asha.

News is that at the time of the award ceremony, Asha Bhosle is expected to sing Marathi songs for three hours! Readers may recall that last year, the same award was given by Amitabh Bachchan to Lata Mangeshkar.

SRK gifts expensive bike to Rohit Shetty

That Shah Rukh Khan is known for his larger-than-life acts is well known. The same was 'experienced' by director Rohit Shetty on the eve of his birthday recently.

What happened was that SRK had planned a surprise party at Wai, where they all are presently shooting for their film Chennai Express. And since SRK knew that Rohit is a diehard fan of bikes and cars, he gifted the 'birthday boy' an expensive Ed Hardy bike! In addition to that, he had also invited Rohit's family for the bash at the hotel.

Needless to say that, Rohit was very overwhelmed by SRK's gesture!

While on one hand, what remains unclear is the lead actress opposite Hrithik in KJo's film Shuddhi... on the other hand, it's by now clear that the major parts of the movie will be shot in Rishikesh.

Karan Johar confirmed the news that Rishikesh has an important role to play in the film. He added that both Karan Malhotra & his wife Ekta have researched the location extensively and have made several research-based trips to Rishikesh.

Karan Johar also clarified that Shuddhi is not based on the book 'The Immortals of Meluha' as reported by certain sections of the media.

"I haven't even met Salman on Kick" - Chetan Bhagat

Kick is a very special step-forward for producer Sajid Nadiadwala and writer Chetan Bhagat. While the former turns director with Kick, the latter attempts screen-writing for the first time.

With the shooting around the corner - Nadiadwala starts shooting for Kick from June 1- various components of this posh actioner have begun to fall in place. The script which needs to make a noted departure from the original 2009 Telugu film is work under progress.

Now comes a report claiming that Salman has "rejected" the script as written by Chetan Bhagat. The rumor has left Chetan baffled. "I haven't even met Salman at all on Kick! The script is not done yet. I am working with only Sajid Nadiadwala and his team on the script."

Clamming up after this, Chetan said it was best if Sajid Nadiadwala clarified the issue.

A source close to the project divulged that on this occasion, Salman is in a completely non-interfering mode. "He is maintaining a hands-free attitude to Kick. It is true that nowadays Salman approves of every department in his starrer from script to director to cameraman to co-star before a project takes off. But Kick is entirely his buddy Sajid Nadiadwala's baby and Salman is treating it that way. He has very clearly told Sajid, "Jo karna hai kar. I am with you."

No item song in Sohail's film

#
While Arbaaz Khan's films Dabangg and its sequel reaped a major box-office benefit from its two feisty item songs, Arbaaz's brother Sohail has never been one for planting tantalizing Munnis and Sheilas into his films.

None of Sohail's directorial ventures so far has featured an item song. It therefore comes as no surprise to know that Sohail's new venture, featuring Salman Khan would have no item song.

Confirming this healthy move away from those curvaceous moves, Sohail said, "My script doesn't demand it. And there is really no deeper design to it. It's just how the film is written now. I am only trying to be honest to the social-drama genre."
