While the former turns director with Kick, the latter attempts screen-writing for the first time.

With the shooting around the corner - Nadiadwala starts shooting for Kick from June 1- various components of this posh actioner have begun to fall in place. The script which needs to make a noted departure from the original 2009 Telugu film is work under progress.

Now comes a report claiming that Salman has "rejected" the script as written by Chetan Bhagat. The rumor has left Chetan baffled. "I haven't even met Salman at all on Kick! The script is not done yet. I am working with only Sajid Nadiadwala and his team on the script."

Clamming up after this, Chetan said it was best if Sajid Nadiadwala clarified the issue.

A source close to the project divulged that on this occasion, Salman is in a completely non-interfering mode. "He is maintaining a hands-free attitude to Kick. But Kick is entirely his buddy Sajid Nadiadwala's baby and Salman is treating it that way. He has very clearly told Sajid, "Jo karna hai kar. It's great to see this movement happen. I'd love for as many people to watch it as possible."

While talking about exploring new markets Kumar Ahuja, President – Business Development, Eros International says, “In the last one year, we have had some major releases in Japan including Robot, Sivaji, Ra.One and now Om Shanti Om. In fact, Ra.One and Om Shanti Om were sold to Japan in December 2011 itself and we planned the release of these films in a phased manner with Ra.One releasing last year followed by OSO’s release which was locked a few months back. All this has taken meticulous planning and is definitely not a hasty decision on our part. Initially I wasn't sure if I was up to the task. But now I feel I can pull it off."

Subhash agrees it's a huge responsibility. "The first two Munnabhai films left a deep impact on the audience. I've been given the responsibility of taking the series ahead. I can't afford to let down my producer Vinod Chopra or the Munnabhai director and writer Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi." Hirani and Joshi would be on board for Subhash Kapoor's Munnabhai film.

Subhash feels Vinod Chopra selected him for making the next Munnabhai film on the basis of his satirical work so far. "He did see some of Phas Gaya Re Obama and my trailer of Jolly LLB. I don't know if that is what convinced him that I was the right person to direct the next Munnabhai film."

That Jolly LLB stars the Munnabhai duo of Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani is merely a coincidence. "I needed an actor who could play one of the most successful lawyers of the country and another actor to play the underdog who beats him in the courtroom. Boman and Arshad were my natural choices. It's a typical David & Goliath saga transposed into a courtroom. Though cheeky, it in no way belittles the legal system. Every lawyer in the country would smile after seeing the film."

Subhash feels courtroom dramas in our cinema are stereotyped. "They are structured the same way for decades. Even the judge says the same thing in all films. In Jolly LLB, the judge played by Saurabh Shukla makes a clean break from the norm."

Subhash agrees we need to laugh at the glaring anomalies in our socio-political system in order to survive. "Laughter is not the best medicine. It is the only method to combat what is becoming increasingly evident. That our bureaucracy and political system are on the verge of collapse."

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641285516407225236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5359529312428946291.post-20935102240183098962013-03-14T23:39:00.001-07:002013-03-17T11:31:51.060-07:00'Babli Badmaash' gets U/A by revising committee

Shootout At Wadala has been in the thick of controversy from its very inception. The CBFC is believed to have received a complaint from some Delhi-based women's body regarding the commodification of women in item songs. The CBFC's decision had the film's producers in a state of shock considering that this new rule had never been communicated to the film industry in the past.

Confirms Tanuj Garg, CEO - Balaji Motion Pictures, "After submitting 'Babli Badmaash' for certification, we were informed that it would get an 'A' because it was an item track. While one of the petitions filed sought a stay on the film's release, we have learnt that the Delhi High court has since dismissed the PIL on the grounds that the petition "lacks full details" of the film.

A bench of Chief Justice D Murugesan and Justice V K Jain rejected the plea of a group of lawyers who had alleged that some dialogues and scenes in the film were defamatory. "In our opinion, the petition cannot be entertained at this stage for want of full details. The petition is solely on the basis of trailer which is being exhibited on television and websites... There are no details of the circumstances on which the dialogues had been included in the scene and for that matter in the film," the bench said.

The bench was hearing the PIL filed by lawyers who had done their LLB from Law College, Meerut University.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16641285516407225236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5359529312428946291.post-69334355987814851772013-03-14T23:38:00.000-07:002013-03-17T11:31:51.149-07:00Akshay opens cancer shelter for cops

Akshay Kumar is known to have had a special bond with his father Hari Om Bhatia.
